The 1812 Penny   The head of the coin has in the centre, on a base line, a lion, either in allusion to the British Lion or because this animal figured in the arms of South Wales, where the company's smelting works were situated. The legend consists of the words ROLLING MILLS AT WALTHAMSTOW with ONE PENNY 1812 in the exurge. A circle of dots completes the design. The reverse has a wreath of oak leaves and acorns. In the the centre are the words BRITISH COPPER COMAPNY, the legend outside the wreath being SMELTING WORKS AT LANDORE with a five pointed star after the final E.
