Blue Coat School

The Blue Coat School lies on the east side of Tottenham High Road. The picture above left is from 1892, the replacement building which was erected in 1833 and enlarged in 1876. The school was then known as Tottenham Middle Class School for Girls from 1886 until 1930 when the building was converted into shops.
It still remains there in a dilapidated state, see picture above right, although there are plans for refurbishment by Haringey Council and the English Heritage to return it into its former state.
